· Navigation that plays nicely with your tunes
Google Maps now rides shotgun alongside Mapbox. Flip between engines in Settings → Navigation without losing iCarMode’s big-button UI. And because music never stops, a persistent mini-player for Podcasts, Music or Radio sits at the bottom of the map, letting you pause, skip, or glance at what’s playing without leaving the route.
· Podcasts, re-engineered for the road
The Podcasts player gets a complete makeover:
- Supersized controls you can tap with a glance.
- Up Next panel – see the queue, drag to reorder, or swipe episodes away.
- Binge Mode – auto-play a single show front-to-back (oldest→newest) or back-to-front (newest→oldest). Perfect for true-crime marathons or catching up on daily news.
· Music & Radio, now even more driver-friendly
We flattened visual clutter and expanded every control. Album art pops, station logos are crisp, and the redesigned info bar stays readable in bright sunlight. Switching tracks or stations is a one-tap affair.
· Theme Wizard: build the dashboard you’ve always wanted
Version 8 unlocks deeper customisation:
- Backgrounds – choose from curated images or import your own photo.
- Colors – separate day/night or front/back accents to match your dash lighting.
- Layout – adjust button count and size per page, then drag-drop to reorder. Create a minimalist four-button layout for the bike, or a dense 12-button grid for road trips—it’s up to you.
· Under-the-hood performance gains
We rewrote rendering pipelines, reduced memory use, and fine-tuned background services. Expect shorter startup times, smoother animation, and rock-solid stability—even on older devices.
